The role of the Production Operator is to transfer incoming raw products from tanker trucks and operate specialized equipment to further process the raw material into a dried finished product. This must be done under strict guidelines to ensure the product is packaged correctly for shipment.

We are looking for a Production Operator to join our team in Calgary!
The role of the Production Operator is to transfer incoming raw products from tanker trucks and operate specialized equipment to further process the raw material into a dried finished product. This must be done under strict guidelines to ensure the product is packaged correctly for shipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unload animal blood using hoses and pumps.
- Perform lab testing on incoming animal blood to ensure it meets operational guidelines.
- Prepare and clean the tanker using both automated and manual washing systems.
- Separate, concentrate, and dry the raw product.
- Bag the finished product in powder form while wearing a protective mask.
- Carry and stack 25 kg (55 lbs) bags of finished products or chemicals.
- Operate specialized equipment to further process the product for shipment.
- Follow sampling procedures for third-party lab tests.
- Clean up any process spills (e.g., animal blood and similar products).
- Monitor and record process data on a computer.
- Maintain all required documentation related to duties.
- Clean equipment and floors according to process and housekeeping rules.
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an equipment operator.
- Knowledge of HACCP (an asset).
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team environment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Fluency in English and French (an asset).
- Hourly wage starting at $26.75, increasing to $27.25 after 3 months.
- Handling animal blood products.
- Exposure to high noise levels.
- Working in above-normal ambient temperatures.
- Twelve-hour shifts on a day/night rotation. Day shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
- Strong teamwork required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift 55 lbs repetitively.
- Good physical condition required.
