Position:

The Continuous Deployment and Operations Specialist plays a key role in managing our constantly evolving production, test and development environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance and security of over a hundred non-production, production and backup installations. As a key member of the team, you will execute and improve deployments, ensure proactive monitoring and continuously improve our processes to optimize our operations.

Deployments and upgrades:

  • Execute, optimize and maintain CD pipelines to deploy scalable versions of our applications on environments leading to production.
  • Ensure configuration management of environments using Git, automation pipelines and configuration management tools.
  • Monitoring and alerting:
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive monitoring system to detect issues and performance problems.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to improve monitoring tools and processes.
  • Enhance, configure and manage Alerts as Code in Git and runbooks.
  • Contribution to dashboards

Support and problem resolution:

  • Available for 24/7 support (on a bonus rotation)
  • Provide first-level support for production and non-production incidents (on a daytime rotation).
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to deployment, performance and availability of environments.
  • Document incidents, perform root cause analysis and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Automation and continuous improvement:

  • Develop, improve and automate runbooks for daily operational tasks.
  • Identify and implement improvements to optimize performance, reliability and security of environments.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to increase team efficiency.
  • Support and problem resolution:
  • Available for 24/7 support (on a bonus rotation)
  • Provide first-level support for production and non-production incidents (on a daytime rotation).
  • Diagnose and resolve problems related to deployment, performance and availability of environments.
  • Document incidents, perform root cause analysis and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Collaboration and communication:

  • Work closely with development, infrastructure and product teams to ensure smooth application delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with different teams to coordinate deployments, updates and emergency response.

Requirements:

  • DEC or AEC in computer science or related field.
  • Significant experience in a similar role (Continuous Deployment, DevOps, SysAdmin).

Technical and professional skills:

  • Knowledge of Linux and Git.
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Knowledge of monitoring and alerting systems (Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of SQL databases.

Assets:

  • Production support
  • Experience with containers (Docker, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cloud architectures (AWS, etc.).
  • Experience with proxy tools (HAProxy, nginx, ...).
  • Familiarity with API Gateways (Kong).
  • Experience in test automation.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
  • Use of AI to help diagnose incidents or problems.
