Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Production Assembler / Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling robotic systems and sub-assemblies by following detailed work instructions. You will also support basic troubleshooting and issue resolution to ensure high-quality builds and smooth production flow.
This position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, a hands-on background (such as working on personal vehicle repairs or machinery), and a sharp attention to detail. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the precision, reliability, and safety of each assembled product.
This role is based 5 days per week on site in our Kitchener facility.
Main Tasks:
Assemble robots and related sub-assemblies according to standardized work instructions and procedures.
Follow detailed work instructions and checklists to ensure accurate and consistent assembly.
Maintain high standards of precision and attention to detail throughout the build process.
Use mechanical knowledge to identify potential fitment, alignment, or functionality issues.
Perform in-process inspections and functional testing to verify quality and completeness.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues during assembly.
Communicate build issues with manufacturing engineering and quality teams and assist in root cause analysis.
Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S and safety best practices.
Report part shortages, discrepancies, or damaged components.
Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies or quality concerns.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or associate degree preferred.
1–3 years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical assembly (robotics, automotive, or industrial equipment a plus).
Strong mechanical aptitude, especially with hands-on experience in personal or professional vehicle or machinery repairs.
Proven attention to detail, with the ability to follow complex instructions and maintain quality throughout repetitive tasks.
Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools (wrenches, sockets, torque tools, drills, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and follow work instructions.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, fasteners, torque specs, and alignments.
Familiarity with electrical components, wiring harnesses, and basic diagnostics is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Enthusiasm for hands-on work and learning new technical skills.
