Program Manager - Hospital Redevelopment Projects (IT Only)

Our healthcare client in Canada requires multiple Program Managers (contracts) to lead multiple hospital builds and redevelopment projects concurrently (IT/technology side of the builds, NOT the construction aspect, although experience with capital builds is important). Candidates MUST have experience implementing technology (infrastructure, clinical systems, peripherals) in a clinic and/or hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver the IT components of multiple complex, high-priority capital construction projects
- Create dashboards and analytics to track and display project progress
- Manage procurement activities and monitor financials
- Communicate with executives, partners, stakeholders, and users throughout all phases of the projects
- Lead the organizational change efforts required for successful project implementation
- Prioritize key milestones while balancing competing project demands and priorities
- Handle multiple complex and high-priority projects at the same time
- Foster a proactive, collaborative cross-functional project team, including both management and non-management members, in an environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, initiative, and open communication
- Acknowledge and celebrate both individual and team achievements
- Maintain strong expertise in project management disciplines
- Provide leadership to project team members during implementation, planning, coordination, change management, transition, and communications
- Manage program-level change and resolve program-level issues
- Organize and lead critical project meetings, ensuring documentation is complete
- Guide multiple stakeholders through the design and construction phases to achieve the agreed-upon scope, budget, and timeline
- Build and maintain the project schedule, including key milestones
- Oversee procurement processes and monitor progress
- Coordinate all IMIT-related aspects of the program
- Conduct project planning activities, including scope definition and schedule development
- Develop and manage the IMIT budget throughout the life of the project
- Identify, escalate, and track project issues
- Support decision-making processes and track key decisions
- Coordinate activities across various project sites
- Determine priorities and allocate resources to meet program objectives
- Prepare, monitor, and share the approved project charter, schedule, and budget
- Monitor and report any variances from the project charter, budget, or timeline promptly
- Provide ongoing status updates on the overall program
- Supervise all phases of the project lifecycle, from concept and design through construction, client turnover, commissioning, and final validation
Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience in program and project management, with a focus on implementing, upgrading, and integrating technology solutions including hardware, infrastructure, and systems
- More than 3 years of experience leading capital projects and hospital redevelopment initiatives
- PMP certification or similar
- Knowledge of standards, codes, and regulations related to the construction and maintenance of buildings and facilities
- Previous background in healthcare IT or construction environments
