We are hiring a Project Manager & Estimator for our growing Carpentry Division. This individual will lead and oversee the work of our team of 6+ full-time carpenters, while collaborating closely with our design, estimating, and project management teams. You’ll be responsible for project planning, scheduling, estimating, quality control, client communication, and on-site leadership, ensuring that all projects meet Geller’s high standards of craftsmanship, budget, and timeline.
The ideal candidate is both a strong leader and a hands-on builder, capable of juggling project management duties with mentorship and field support as needed.
- Lead and supervise a team of 6+ carpenters across multiple projects, while also assisting in the oversight of other features within the project
- Develop detailed project schedules to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
- Assisting with estimating, quoting, and project costing to ensure profitability
- Review project blueprints, specifications, and drawings for estimating accuracy
- Coordinate project logistics, procurement of materials, and delivery schedules
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Oversee quality assurance and on-site workmanship to meet Geller's standards
- Implement and enforce jobsite health and safety protocols and compliance
- Mentor junior staff members, providing training and hands-on guidance
- Support field operations, troubleshooting challenges on-site as needed
- Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and addressing concerns
- Collaborate with internal teams (design, sales, admin) to execute project intent
- Maintain accurate project documentation including change orders, RFIs, and daily reports
- 5+ years in residential/commercial carpentry and building, with leadership experience
- Journeyman Red Seal Carpenter certification is required
- Strong understanding of deck framing, custom wood structures, fencing, pergolas, and interior renovations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction documents
- Experience in preparing detailed cost estimates and managing project budgets
- Strong scheduling and time management skills with a proactive mindset
- Proficiency with project management and estimating software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, or equivalent) is considered an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client and team coordination
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract (Class 3 an asset)
- Clean criminal record check required
