Protection and Control Design Engineer

MatchBox Consulting is on the hunt for a protection and Control design engineer to work out of Burnaby, BC in a hybrid work model.

A bit about the role:

Length: 1 year

Location: Burnaby (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

• Design protection and control systems for substations (12kV–500kV).
• Prepare sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record (PoR).
• Provide technical field support and conduct field reviews.
• Prepare design packages including schematics, layouts, and material lists.

Must-Haves

• Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Registered P.Eng.
• Strong experience with P&C design in substations (12kV–500kV).
• Proficient with CAD and standard design tools.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel in BC.
• Located in or willing to relocate to the Lower Mainland.

Nice-to-Haves

• Utilities sector experience.
• Technical writing skills.
