The Job You Will Perform
QA/QC (Weld Quality Control) Inspector & In-Service Piping Inspector
This Inspector position reports to the Chief Inspector and will be required to work daily with the onsite welding shop manager, planners and In-Service Inspectors (ISI), Operations, Maintenance Planners, Engineers and Maintenance Coordinators. This position is a Monday to Friday dayshift, salaried position that provides a great work/life balance, allowing a steady routine and predictable work schedule with flexibility, however occasional call-ins and overtime maybe be required due to projects and maintenance outages. Rewards package includes competitive wages, pension, and a benefits plan.
Key Functions
As a member of the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management System (PEIMS) Team, in the QA/QC role, you’ll be supporting the construction and inspection process by; Monitoring and guiding construction of new piping systems, existing piping system replacements, organizing and executing QA inspections, reviewing and accepting third party NDE reports, ensuring pressure equipment (mainly piping) is installed, inspected and maintained to company standards, federal and provincial codes and regulations to ensure compliance.
Key Accountabilities
The Successful Candidate Must Demonstrate The Following Key Competencies
Ideal candidate would hold a current CWB Level 2 welding inspector certification with endorsements for B31.3, ASME VIII, with a minimum of 5 years’ combined experience in construction, inspections, repairs, and/or alterations of Pressure Piping or Pressure Vessels or experience within a QA/QC role.
API 570 and Alberta In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector (ISI-PP) and Red Seal Welder certifications are consider an asset but not required. Candidates will be considered based on their level of experience and their combination of the below listed certifications and skills.

- Participate in Environmental, Health and Safety activities in accordance established standards
- Prepare/Review ITP’s for various piping projects and day to day replacement activities
- Organizing, coordinating and executing; Visual, NDE inspections and contractors executing such Inspections
- Monitor welding QA/QC functions to support new construction, repairs and alterations of piping both on and off site
- Prepare, maintain and review inspection records pertaining to; new construction, repairs of company assets, in-service inspections as applicable.
- Review turnover packages, ensuring compliance to company PEIMS.
