Overview
This position contributes to the success of PepsiCo Beverages Canada by ensuring the overall quality control and food safety management system in accordance with Company Standards to uphold trademark integrity. The Quality Supervisor is responsible for managing a diverse frontline employee group.

Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluates and updates the Cleaning and Sanitation Procedure Manual, SSOPs and Master Sanitation Schedule to reflect changes in equipment design, new equipment, or changes in the cleaning process
- Hands-on participation in cleaning and sanitizing programs to adhere to Food Safety requirements
- Provide functional direction & leadership to the plant through the implementation and management of effective an efficient Quality Program in conformance to food safety procedures and legislative requirements
- Train production team members on sanitation procedures
- Provide technical assistance for sanitation issues and ensure conformance to food safety program
- Solve problems independently in consultation with management and chemical supplier and manage chemical inventory
- Directs employees in GMP’s, HACCP, pre-operational, and sanitation procedures,
- Prepares reports and maintains records for due diligence of quality procedures and continuous improvements,
- Submits work orders for the repair and maintenance of equipment with follow up
- To actively take part in the Company Safety program by promoting safe work procedures, being knowledgeable in safety matters relating to the plant and encouraging a safety conscious culture
- Ensures compliance with all quality management programs and food safety systems, such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
- Leading the day-to-day operations & optimization of the cleaning and sanitation of the processing facility.
- Ensures employees are trained and qualified in WHMIS and other programs prior to handling, storing and using chemicals and/or prior to the operation of equipment
- Oversees clean-up activities of equipment and facilities in all production areas.
- Responsible for physical inspection of plant and equipment to evaluate sanitation effectiveness, conducts post sanitation swabbing, data and microbiological trending, ensures reporting is up to date
- Resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems impacted by the quality team to ensure minimum costs and to prevent operational delays.
- Responsible for training and development of all quality employees for safety and job performance.
- Responsible for scheduling quality team staff hours, vacations, approving hours etc., to meet requirements
- Assessing your work and that of your team members to ensure that that each of the plant's area are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Undertakes to protect the health and safety of employees in accordance with established safe work procedures, Company policies, and applicable provincial legislation.
- Managing the operational cost of department including controlling overtime, absenteeism and quality of production output among other to ensure cost competitive operation
- Maintains site Food Safety/HACCP Plan and supports QC manager in food safety internal and external audit preparation and execution
- Optimize production yields to reduce waste and support plant targets - put in place improvement plans
- Management of the production schedule to ensure batching efficiency and schedule attainment
- Ensures proper hold management of non-conforming product
- Works alongside service providers and contractors to manage equipment
- Performs continuous improvement projects to optimize quality systems
- Management of concentrate inventory
- Develops frontline quality team capabilities to improve their overall performance and achieve performance targets
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of process improvements and technical developments
- Sets frontline performance standards providing coaching and feedback to build capability
- Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly personnel
- Ensures compliance with all Health & Safety regulations
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, preferably in a high speed manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated front-line supervisory experience
- Prior experience in Sanitation and Food Safety preferred
- Strong communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and influence management skills
- Incumbent must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks without losing momentum while also completing all daily tasks efficiently and effectively
- Demonstrated planning and organization skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends
