Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Fort St. John Hospital.

Reporting to the Manager or designate the Community Cancer Services Nurse provides, coordinates and implements nursing care to Ambulatory Care Clinic patients including patient assessment, patient/family teaching, Chemotherapy administration, provision of health promotion information and navigation support to patients/family with cancer, in accordance with established policies, standards and procedures. The CCSN works closely with the hospital, community, regional and provincial team members (including physicians and Pharmacist), to plan, implement, deliver and evaluate systemic therapy and ambulatory care clinic services. The CCSN assists in initiatives aimed at the development of clinical skills for hospital and community care providers. In collaboration with Program manager and the hospital supervisor, the CCSN coordinates staffing and patient care activities.

Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre has 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds and is equipped to handle 22,000 ER visits per year. Some more highlights about the hospital:

Fort St. John is known as “The Energetic City,” which reflects the large resource base of oil, natural gas, forestry and agriculture. Overlooking the Peace River, the town of Fort St John is located above the Peace River Valley and serves as the capital of the Peace River district. The population of Fort St. John is over 21,400 but it services an area of approximately 70,000. The community is the hub of the Northeast with a cultural centre and library, theatre, and art space. There are seven elementary schools, two middle schools, and one secondary school. There is also a Northern Lights College campus.
