Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Highland Health & Family Development Centre.
Reporting to the Regional Palliative Care Consultation Team Lead, this position is a member of the Northern Health (NH) Hospice Palliative Care (HPC) Consultation Team, which includes a HPC Physician Lead and Regional HPC Pharmacist. The team functions in an advisory capacity to support and mentor primary care givers in every care setting (i.e. acute, residential and community care) where patients or families receive palliative care.
Utilizing expert knowledge and skills the Nurse Consultant works collaboratively in their assigned Health Service Delivery Area to:
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:30 to 16:30

- Establish regular contact within the area of responsibility with key palliative care stakeholders.
- Develop and implement education/resources to build capacity across the continuum of care at all levels.
- Provide consults on clinically complex pain, symptom and psychosocial issues for persons registered with the NH HPC Program.
- Provides leadership related to the development of policies, procedures and education needs related to the NH HPC Program both locally and regionally.
