Job Summary

The Regulatory Analyst reviews and analyses source documents from Customs, trade groups and other publications to identify information relevant to the compliance of Livingston International, Inc., its clients and shippers. Tracks identified relevant issues through these sources and executes assigned tasks required to manage our external compliance program, thereby ensuring that all Customs import requirements are met by Livingston’s clients and shippers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze changes in regulations/trade initiatives to identify the overall impact on the company or its clients.
  • Identify opportunities and threats to Livingston’s corporation and compliance policies and practices and determine the impact on services or solutions, communicating to internal groups if opportunities/threats impact on services or solutions.
  • Provide direction on required changes to Livingston’s corporate and compliance policies and procedures to incorporate new regulations. These changes may include communications, both internal and to clients; development and delivery of training materials for internal teams.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with government agencies, departments and associations, to obtain information and insight to pending legislation and operational process changes.
  • Actively participate in associations, committees, etc., in order to support and represent Livingston’s interests to the industry and government, lobbying to protect our interests in light of pending legislation and operational process changes.
  • Oversee and administer the compliance of regulations to ensure the client is compliant with laws and regulations from services provided by Livingston.
  • Assist other departments in developing new policies and procedures impacting operations.
  • Support Livingston Marketing group for client inquiries and issues on technical or compliance matters.
  • Manage projects that the Director, Regulatory Affairs determines support the external compliance program that ensures Livingston and its clients comply with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge of Customs regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information.

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to handle stress and occasional tight deadlines associated with regulatory changes.

Work Experience – Minimum Required

5 years of related experience

EDUCATION

Required: Associates Degree or post-secondary education
