About the Job:
- Design and optimize cutting-edge coded-modulation schemes and FEC codes for next-generation optical modems.
- Collaborate closely with ASIC designers to ensure seamless compatibility and integration throughout the design process.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation and actively participate in design reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with the team to resolve technical and non-technical challenges, ensuring smooth progress across the development cycle.
About the ideal candidate:
- Holds Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Brings 3+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Possesses a strong background in digital communication theory and information theory.
- Has a solid foundation in channel coding, coded-modulation schemes, and constellation shaping.
- Familiar with modern FEC families, including LDPC codes, Polar codes, and product-like codes with algebraic component codes (e.g., Staircase codes, Zipper codes, and OFEC).
- Proficient in programming with C++ and Python.
- Knowledge of optical communication is an asset.
- Experience or knowledge in Machine Learning is an asset.
