Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the general direction of the Manager, Security, this position is responsible for the safety and protection of team members, guests, the facility (both internal and external) and the company's assets. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitors, documents and reports violations, large cash/cash equivalents transactions, excluded and self-excluded guests and unauthorized access
  • Monitors, documents and prepares statements and/or reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons or activities
  • Enforces restricted access by unauthorized persons
  • Observes transactions, pulls, fills, transfers, etc.
  • Escorts cash/cash equivalents
  • Tags and reports found property; transfers items to Lost and Found
  • Conducts regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed
  • Escorts guests and team members as directed
  • Performs identification checks as required
  • Refers disputes to the Supervisor, Security
  • Performs crowd control as directed
  • Maintains logs and records; storing records for evidence purposes
  • May enroll guests in the Self-Exclusion Program
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Monitoring, documenting, and reporting on conditions of surveillance facilities and equipment

  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education And Qualifications

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Post secondary education in criminology or a suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience
  • Experience in security or surveillance an asset
  • Security license an asset
  • Serving it Right Certification
  • Computer proficiency
  • Keen eye for detail, with the ability to focus on monitors for long periods of time
  • Adherence to high standards, methods, and procedures
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular casino environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, and non-traditional work hours
