Join this established organization that is set for considerable growth over the next five years. MillDon Enterprises is looking for a Senior Accountant who will drive financial performance and operational efficiency in its growing residential portfolio!
Your New Employer
Our client, MillDon Enterprises, is a successful and stable long-term owner-operator of multi-residential properties across Southern Ontario. With a well-maintained and growing portfolio, MillDon is committed to financial excellence and operational efficiency. They are in strong financial health, reinvesting in their assets while supporting future expansion, and they are now looking for a talented, driven professional to join their team as a Senior Accountant.
Your New Role
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across MillDon’s residential property portfolio. This is a hands-on accounting role with a strong focus on financial analysis and strategic decision-making support. You will work closely with the Controller, and also with VP of Operations, and Property Managers to provide insights that enhance financial performance. Your work will directly contribute to MillDon’s mission of operational excellence and sustainable growth. You will prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for a portfolio of properties, manage end-to-end accounting including journal entries, account reconciliations, and budget preparation, and assist in financial modelling, cash flow analysis, and performance tracking. Additionally, you will work closely with operational teams to ensure financial goals align with property management objectives, conduct balance sheet analysis, prepare in-depth schedules, and assist in year-end reporting. Performing on-site visits will help build relationships with operational teams and improve financial visibility. Opportunities for duties within corporate accounting too if the desire is there.
What Sets You Apart
You are a CPA (or nearing completion) with 3+ years of accounting and financial analysis experience, in property management, preferably residential. You have a strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and budget analysis. Your advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, modelling, data analysis) set you apart, and you are comfortable with ERP systems, Sage Intacct or Yardi experience would be ideal. You are highly detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to a growing company.
What You Can Expect
MillDon offers a collaborative and high-performance work environment with opportunities for career growth. This role is full-time, and once trust has been built, a hybrid work model is available. You will receive mentorship from senior leadership, exposure to strategic decision-making, and the chance to grow into a leadership role as the team expands. MillDon values initiative, problem-solving, and analytical thinking, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact in financial operations.
