Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Edmonton. The successful candidate will lead month-end processes, drive full-cycle accounting, and make a meaningful impact on financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the department’s efficiency while producing timely financial statements. This role is perfect for someone in public practice that is looking to make a jump into industry.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Lead the month-end processes and full-cycle accounting with precision and expertise.
• Manage AR and AP, ensuring that the financial processes are efficient and effective.
• Produce monthly financial statements timely.
• Oversee inventory management, utilizing a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Create ad hoc financial reporting when required; cash flow, cost reporting, forecasting, etc.
• Manage and oversee the growing accounting team.
• Drive process improvement to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting team.
  
  

Your strengths include:

• CPA designation or actively working towards achieving it.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a senior accounting or finance role.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a team.
• Proven expertise in accounting, with a deep understanding of financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong software skills, enabling you to leverage technology to streamline financial processes.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment, where adaptability and multitasking are second nature.
