About The Role

The Digital and AI Initiatives team is growing and we are looking for the next Senior Business Analyst to join our team!

Reporting to the Manager - Operations & Planning, the Senior Business Analyst will have a large impact on implementing various Digital initiatives for the Intact Financial Corporation and its subsidiaries. You will be responsible to collaborate with business stakeholders nationally to ensure the effective definition of business requirements for our IT partners. You will be responsible for clarifying business objectives; obtaining, analyzing, documenting, validating and communicating business requirements and impacts. Your key objective will be to manage the performance our Acquisition projects, with the goal of soliciting user feedback and business impacts, and propose guidance and strategies to remove any roadblocks impacting business objectives.

What You’ll Do Here

  • Act as an intermediary between IT, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Quality Analysts, Data Lab, Developers, end users and managers from different business units.
  • Plan and coordinate project activities related to organizational requirements or changes.
  • Obtain requirements from business communities using techniques such as interview and leading requirements sessions. Document requirements obtained from the business community using defined templates.
  • Analyze information obtained from various sources, detail the high-level view and provide users with recommendations to their problems.
  • Release and change management – manage Pre and Post implementation support activities, meeting stakeholders and IT business partners to ensure objectives are being met and issues are being communicated and resolved.
  • Assist in creation of product strategic roadmap - manage the product backlog and create user stories for improvements.
  • Comfortable working in an Agile / SCRUM environment (JIRA, Confluence, MIRO, etc.).
  • Ensure the link between the business units, the technology teams and the support team.
  • Participate in a working session with experts from different fields.
  • Assist team in improving productivity and reducing risks and high costs through effective analysis.
  • Identify the need for change to assess and communicate the impacts.
  • Support the Quality Assurance team during Test Planning and Execution – responsible for building manual test case scenarios in environments (DEV/UAT) involving QA, Analysts and business stakeholders.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in positions requiring business analysis, requirements definition, and preparation of related documentation.
  • Experience in business process review.
  • Highly develop analytical skills facilitating problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to cope with change effectively.
  • Client-oriented.
  • Must have demonstrated initiative and autonomy.
  • Skills for time and priority management.
  • Can manage multiple initiatives at the same time.
  • Team spirit and strong collaborator.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Experience in Functional analysis and Mentorship.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge in micro-computing and data analytics (PowerApps, PowerBi, Excel spreadsheets, SQL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry is an asset.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
