What you can expect to do here:
- Manage and deliver energy and carbon performance analysis / modeling (energy modeling, embodied carbon modeling, comparative EUI/GHGI analysis, etc.) for new builds and retrofits
- Prepare simulation models in support of code compliance (BCBC, VBBL), green building rating systems, utility incentive programs and/or municipal or federal policy
- Collaborate closely with building science, mechanical, and electrical designers to identify and apply efficient, low-carbon design solutions
- Write technical reports.
- 8 years of experience in parametric modeling and energy-efficient/low-carbon HVAC system design
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and parametric modeling software - DesignBuilder or IESVE required, eQUEST, RETScreen, EnergyPlus, and others considered an asset.
- Knowledge of building and energy codes (BCBC, VBBL, BC Energy Step Code, NECB, etc.)
- A commitment to collaboration, continuous learning, and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Ability to manage task sequencing, project budgets, and scale the level /depth of analysis to client expectations and project schedules
