Senior Engineer Land Surveyor (Tunnel Project)

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technician services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for an Engineer Land Surveyor to join our team in Toronto (100% on-site)

• Project: subway/tunnel project
• Estimated length of the position: 24 months- with the possibility of being extended. In general, when the project ends, we try to place the candidate in other projects to give him/her continuity.
• Summary: this role requires a very dedicated, knowledgeable, and truly professional surveyor with extensive experience in surveying major civil projects. It offers an opportunity to lead and contribute to the success of very relevant projects by ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and time management. Adaptability, leadership skills, and technical proficiency are crucial for success in this role
• Responsibilities:
• Execute assigned survey tasks both in the field and office environments.
• Ensure thorough preparation of field work data before and after task completion.
• Conduct quality checks on collected data to ensure accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
• Prepare comprehensive survey reports for the creation of as-built drawings.
• Propose and implement measures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the survey section.
• Provide mentorship and support to surveyors and survey assistants, fostering their professional growth and development.
• Handle company materials responsibly and in accordance with safety and procedural guidelines.
• Assist in establishing, measuring, and maintaining the Survey Network as required.
• Collaborate with and support other surveyors as necessary to meet project demands.
• Requirements:
• A minimum of 8 year of experience as an Engineer Land Surveyor in structures/stations/heavy civil construction projects or similar.
• A bachelor's degree or studies in the Topographic field or similar is mandatory.
• Familiarity with design software such as Civil 3D and Point Cloud software, such as Cyclone
• Experience in management and leadership of survey teams is highly advantageous.
• Specialized knowledge and experience in underground works are preferred.
• Deep understanding of civil construction methods and processes.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across various departments and levels of site management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Expertise in using advanced survey equipment including Laser Scanners, Total Stations, GNSS receivers, and Digital Levels. Leica preferred.
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10-hour day shift.
