As they continue to expand their footprint in Southern Ontario, they are looking for a Senior ICI Construction Estimator to join their high-performing Pre-Construction team.

- Experience working on large-scale ICI projects in Canada is mandatory. Please note, projects below $10M, sub-trade scopes, or residential experience are not aligned with this role.
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in winning and launching high-profile ICI construction projects across Ontario. You will be responsible for preparing accurate, strategic, and competitive cost estimates for new builds, renovations, and expansions—ranging from $10M to $150M+. This is a key leadership position that requires strong technical construction knowledge, sharp estimating acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of detailed, accurate budgets and cost estimates for ICI projects from design through tender submission.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to understand full scope and risks.
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns using PlanSwift, Excel, Bluebeam, and other estimating tools.
- Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing with an eye for scope completeness and competitiveness.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and turnover meetings with internal project teams.
- Contribute to project risk assessments, value engineering options, and procurement strategies.
- Maintain historical cost data, benchmarking insights, and subcontractor databases for ongoing pricing accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to support project success from pre-construction to execution.
- Minimum 5–10 years of construction estimating experience in the Canadian ICI sector (projects $10M+).
- Experience with General Contracting and Construction Management (GC/CM) project delivery.
- Expertise in lump-sum tenders, design-build, and public-private partnership (P3) estimating models.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Solid understanding of the Ontario Building Code, construction bylaws, and local regulations.
- Advanced skills with PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and other estimating or bid submission platforms (e.g., Building Connected).
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Estimating certifications such as PQS, GSC, CEC, or CEP are considered strong assets.
- Proven leadership in managing multiple concurrent bids and tight deadlines.

- Technical Construction Expertise: Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials, specifically in the ICI (Institutional, Commercial, Industrial) sectors, Ability to accurately interpret architectural, structural, civil, and M&E drawings, Solid understanding of the Ontario Building Code and local regulations.
- Estimating Proficiency: Minimum 5 years of experience in construction estimating (ideally with design-build and lump-sum tender experience)., Ability to complete detailed quantity take-offs, unit pricing, and cost breakdowns. Skilled in developing budgets and cash flow projections.
- Software & Digital Tools: Proficiency with estimating and project management software, including: PlanSwift (for digital takeoffs), Microsoft Excel (advanced); Procore, Bluebeam, Sage, or similar platforms. Competent in working within digital bid submission environments (e.g., Building Connected).
- Communication & Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with clients, consultants, and subcontractors., Capable of leading pre-bid meetings, site visits, and internal project turnover meetings., Skilled in subcontractor scope development and pricing negotiations.
- Organizational & Strategic Thinking: Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines, Strong organizational skills to maintain up-to-date records of historical data, subcontractor databases, and cost benchmarks, contribute to risk analysis, value engineering, and project delivery strategy.
- Experience in 10 million to 150 million dollar projects as a GC/ CM. in Canada. ( $10,000 reno projects, sub trade work, single family residential homes – is not what our client does.)
