Date: 2 weeks ago
City: Vancouver, BC
Contract type: Full time

Overview
PDF Solutions is redefining the way the semiconductor industry approaches data, analytics, and experience design. As part of our journey, we’re building Next gen platform — a modern, human-centered analytics platform. We believe design systems aren’t just about consistency — they’re about scalability, collaboration, and performance.
We’re hiring a Design System Specialist — a seasoned front-end developer with a proven track record of building full, responsive web applications. This isn’t a role for someone who only consumes components — we want a systems thinker who builds for reuse, understands responsive and accessible design, and can take open-source UI frameworks and turn them into tailored, enterprise-grade systems.
You’ll collaborate closely with UX and product teams to implement a seamless bridge between design intent and technical reality — shaping the design foundation that scales across our entire product ecosystem.
Responsibilities
You’ll play a foundational role in creating and evolving a scalable design system that empowers teams across the company. If you’ve ever wanted to lead the technical direction of a design system — not just consume one — this is it.You’ll build it, name it, evolve it, and see it used in real-world enterprise applications.
Pay Range
CAD $100,000.00 - CAD $140,000.00 /Yr.

- Translate Figma designs into reusable components that are responsive, accessible, and performant.

- Create and maintain developer-friendly documentation using tools like Storybook.
- Work with engineers across teams to drive adoption, address gaps, and promote reusability.
- Architect and enforce component standards, folder structure, and versioning strategies.
- Champion accessibility (WCAG compliance) and responsive behaviors from the start.
- Support and troubleshoot issues raised by product teams using the design system components.
- 6-9 years of professional front-end development experience.
- Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern front-end tooling.
- Proven experience building full-scale web applications, not just component libraries.
- Strong understanding of component reusability, modular design, and performance optimization.
- Solid experience with responsive web development, mobile-first layouts, and breakpoint strategy.
- Ability to customize and extend open-source UI kits into polished, domain-specific component sets.
- Working knowledge of Storybook, Figma integration, and writing documentation for developer usage.
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices, including ARIA roles and keyboard navigation.
- Experience with Angular or other major web frameworks.
- Background in micro frontends or modular platform architecture.
- Experience with unit testing, visual regression testing, and design token pipelines.
- Familiarity with enterprise design systems such as Material UI, Carbon, Fluent, or Spectrum.
- Exposure to analytics, manufacturing, or semiconductor software is a bonus.
