Our Jacobs Indigenous Relations team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business, and we are expanding our team to support our Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation Program to ensure effective planning, program implementation and engagement strategies to support our clients. Based out of our office in Burnaby, British Columbia, you’ll be integrated in our multi-disciplinary teams (engineering and environment practitioners). The successful candidate will be highly collaborative and use their in-depth knowledge to provide strategic input to the growth of the business, participate in business development efforts and mentor our Indigenous Relations team through on-the-job opportunities.
This is a flex contract position. There is potential for contract extension or conversion to full-time employment based on performance and anticipated workload.

The base salary range for this position is $107,000.00 to $161,810.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation Program.
- Reinforce relationships with Indigenous groups that facilitate the ongoing exchange of information and collaboration to support regulatory processes, capacity building, business engagement and community investment, throughout the asset lifecycle.

Here's what you'll need
- B.A. or M.A. in Indigenous Studies, Anthropology, Archaeology, or History or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum 15 years of experience in Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, Environment, Archaeology, Anthropology, consulting and/or Government Relations.
- Experience engaging with Indigenous groups and collaborating with representatives and community members to resolve complex and often contentious issues.
- Proven ability to collaborate with Indigenous groups to identify opportunities for Indigenous partnerships.
- Experience providing strategic advice to clients and internal teams by identifying risk and opportunities for value add.
- Experience leading business development efforts.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team with a focus on mentorship and contributing to company growth.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated with strong initiative.
- A driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract for client meetings.
