Position Overview: Compugen is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Analyst for an initial 6 month contract working on site in Calgary
Key Responsibilities: You will be responsible for holistically managing infrastructure systems’ health and stability. Responsible for helping plan and implement projects
- Provide primary support for Microsoft technologies such as SQL, Azure AD, Exchange Online, SCCM, and DFS
- Provide primary support in managing network and security systems, including Velo Cloud, Palo Alto firewalls, Ruckus wireless-wired, 802.1x NAC and networking infrastructure
- Ensures that target levels of security are met across the applications and network Infrastructure, through constant monitoring, strong security practices and a sound approach to risk management
- Manages physical and virtual server platforms, including monitoring, maintenance, patching, and backups
- Documents system installation and configuration; ensuring that other team members are trained on the deployed technologies
- Follows and applies company and industry best practise standards consistently across the enterprise
- Monitors helpdesk system to ensure tickets and tasks are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner
- Responsibility to react to any system outages to bring services back online in a timely manner
- Provides after-hours support where needed and within reason
- Participates in weekly on call rotation
- Works closely with customers and the IT Infrastructure Lead to recommend designs, provide cost analyses, plan projects, and coordinate tasks for installation and development of IT services
- Responsible for ensuring that projects are executed according to plan and within budget
- Keeps current with technology updates to ensure technology opportunities are taken advantage of, whether the opportunities relate to speed, improved processing, cost efficiencies, etc.
- Recommends appropriate maintenance strategies to ensure uninterrupted systems usage and proper backup and recovery procedures are adhered to
- 4 - 5+ years in IT/technical roles
- Experience managing technology components including networks, data center hardware, software (system, O/S, middleware, office automation, application), software licensing, technology asset management, performance and capacity and quality assurance
- Solid understanding of current and emerging IT technologies, and desire to learn
- Strong communication skills in effective listening, oral and written communication, as well as presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Energetic, solutions-focused and outcomes oriented
- Problem solver, able to analyze system dependencies
- Solid understanding of datacenter infrastructure components including network, compute, storage, and virtualization
- Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions
- Specific knowledge in the following areas considered an asset:
- Advanced knowledge of SQL database administration and ERP concepts
- SAML solutions / OKTA, Palo Alto, Azure, VMware, Hyper-V, SDWAN, Panzura
- 802.1x, Role Based Access integration and authentication
- HA concepts and architectures
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in IT and/or equivalent work experience
- ITIL Foundations desirable
- Technical certifications are an asset. Security, Network, and Virtualization focused preferred
