The Role

Are you ready to lead the charge in transforming data into actionable insights that drive our e-commerce success? As the Senior Manager, Analytics & Insights (eCommerce), you'll be at the forefront of our data-driven strategy, leading a dynamic team and playing a pivotal role in our leadership team. Your mission: make data the cornerstone of everything we do.

This is a hybrid role, based in the Vancouver, BC area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Analysis: Reporting to the Senior Director, Analytics and AI, you'll analyze Cymax Group's market share, pinpoint opportunities, identify success factors, and uncover potential barriers.
  • Insight Generation: Harness both quantitative and qualitative data to generate clear, concise insights and recommendations.
  • Innovation: Collaborate with the Analytics & AI team to develop and implement cutting-edge data analytics and best practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide timely insights to the senior leadership team on business performance, overall market competitiveness, category trends, and margin enhancements
  • Use a variety of data sources (internal and external) to analyze and identify growth opportunities across vendors, categories, competitors and markets
  • Provide clarity and actionable insights based on analysis of ecommerce data and trends that can be used by senior management in decision making
  • Collaborate with leaders across Cymax to validate assumptions and hypothesis, to drive data driven decision making, and define the KPIs that help measure and run the business
  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts to deliver insights, reports and analysis
  • Drive the design and execution of analytics initiatives, including forecasting, modeling, and A/B testing.
  • Promote a data-driven culture across departments through training, collaboration, and leadership.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities to leverage new tools and techniques.
  • Utilize statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to derive insights from large datasets.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve analytics processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Advocate for the adoption of new methodologies and technologies that drive business value.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 5+ years in data analytics, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Experience in e-commerce analytics (conversion, marketplace analytics, marketing, web-based product analytics) is a plus.
  • Analytical Expertise: Strong understanding of statistical analysis, data modeling, predictive analytics, and the ability to leverage data and industry knowledge to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and experience with visualization tools (PowerBI preferred). Familiarity with SQL Server or similar RDBMS environments.
    • Visualization: Experience with data visualization tools and principles.
    • Data Warehousing: Understanding of data warehouse concepts and foundations.
    • Machine Learning: Knowledge of machine learning and statistical fundamentals, with practical application to business analytics.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Education: Post-secondary diploma, certificate, or degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field is advantageous.

Compensation

The Salary Range for this role is between $120,000 and $140,000 depending on experience. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. We offer a comprehensive range of benefits which includes:
