About The Role

As ATB’s next Senior Manager in the Business Improvement Partners team, your mandate will be to lead a group of team members within our Business Lending Center of Excellence (COE). You will be responsible for supporting the strategic vision, and organizing your team to support the planning and execution of ATB Business’ Lending strategy. The focus of this role will be supporting the long term sustainability of our Lending experience with attention to our Enterprise Lending Program. As a leader, and a subject matter expert, you will lead the development and implementation of best practices, standards, and processes for Lending across ATB Business. You will have a deep understanding of the Lending experience ATB Financial seeks to deliver, including specialized knowledge of people, processes and tools that facilitate the Lending experience. You will also be a people and thought leader in the industry and have a track record of successful project delivery

Please note this is a temporary 24 month opportunity.

Accountabilities

  • Support the realization of the value of our Lending Program and the expected benefits through decision making, guiding COE initiatives to completion, and management of resourcing within your team
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of prioritized Lending processes and solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that Lending solutions align with business objectives.
  • Coordinate and influence cross-functional teams across various business units to ensure that Lending COE initiatives align with and support broader organizational goals.
  • Communicate and collaborate with senior leaders across ATB Financial in order to move initiatives forward, solve challenges and provide ongoing updates on progress.
  • Provide both formal and informal leadership, including coaching, mentoring, performance management and guidance. Must foster a high performance culture that promotes excellence, continuous learning and development.
  • Lead or participate in multi-stakeholder engagement workshops educating and advocating for Advisory Services requirements and capabilities;
  • Make complex, data based decisions, which could have financial, operational and reputational impacts to the business unit and organization in service to the Lending COE.
  • Introduce significant change and develop both team member and client strategies to ensure these changes are successful.
  • Possess detailed lending expertise within all sectors and segments of ATB Business
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices and ensure that our products are updated with the latest features and capabilities to enable the desired experience.
  • Develop expertise in solution design, including a detailed technical and functional understanding of the solutions, and influencing the scope of our program deliveries;
  • Coordinate with and influence team members within projects with regard to prioritizing the backlog and horizon of work scheduled within a Squad.
  • Conduct fact-finding research to completely understand business opportunities, including engaging with stakeholders in SSUs or other AOEs as required;
  • Actively advocates on behalf of Advisory Services team members to ensure value is being delivered to all ATB users of the tools and processes.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • At least 7-10 years of project delivery experience, including experience in leadership roles driving cross functional teams and leading large-scale implementations;
  • Min 5-7 years of experience in Commercial Lending Processes, and the tools utilized to support lending
  • Min 5 years of leadership experience, demonstrating experience leading high performing teams
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field is considered an asset;
  • Previous experience delivering Lending related projects is considered an asset;
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and drive results;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Understanding of Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, and lean methodologies, including a track record of delivering solutions within those frameworks;
  • Strong connector of people and ideas – able to build relationships naturally, align interests of broad stakeholders and provide effective oversight to deliver flawless execution of complex business solutions;
  • Ability to present complex issues effectively at all levels in the organization;
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a clear demonstration of being able to exert influence and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplined stakeholders from all across ATB Financial, including those in senior management (VP and above) roles;
  • Excellent facilitation and communications skills with a particular emphasis on being able to translate business requirements into tangible technical understanding;
  • Ability to drive solutions through to successful outcomes, including presenting solutions to senior leadership, providing technical training to team members; supporting team members as they adopt and learn solutions, and measuring success of the solution against intended key metrics;
  • Strong time management skills including an ability to meet deadlines and establish priorities to manage multiple issues and cross functional teams;
  • Ability to adapt and be agile in an ever evolving environment with respect to process, market changes, technical upgrades, etc.;
  • Experience or proficiency with G Suite Tools, Tableau, Salesforce, nCino would be considered an asset.
