The Senior Manager, Talent & Onboarding will play a critical role in driving a strategic and cohesive approach to talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce integration. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, this role will lead efforts to attract, hire, and successfully onboard employees across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for people, a deep understanding of talent best practices, and a commitment to enhancing the employee experience from recruitment through onboarding.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Oversee the development of proactive talent acquisition strategies to attract high-quality candidates across all functions
- Collaborate with HR and operational leaders to identify workforce needs and create recruitment plans to support business goals
- Oversee employer branding initiatives to position Optima Living as an employer of choice in the senior care industry
- Leverage data and market insights to enhance recruitment effectiveness and improve key hiring metrics
- Manage a best-in-class onboarding program that ensures a positive, engaging, and seamless experience for new hires
- Partner with HR, hiring managers, and training teams to develop onboarding content that aligns with company culture, values, and operational expectations
- Create systems for measuring onboarding success and continuously refine processes based on feedback and outcomes
- Lead, mentor, and develop a highly proficient talent acquisition and onboarding team to drive excellence in talent acquisition and onboarding
- Build strong partnerships with operations, HR, and corporate leadership to ensure alignment between hiring and business needs
- Champion Optima values within the talent and onboarding strategy
- Enhance the use of HR technology, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and onboarding platforms to streamline hiring and integration processes
- Implement innovative sourcing strategies, including digital recruitment marketing, social media outreach, and partnerships with educational institutions
- Analyze key talent and onboarding metrics to drive data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement
- Oversee and drive the continual growth and relevance of data management and reporting within the talent acquisition and onboarding function
- 7+ years of experience in talent acquisition and onboarding leadership, with at least 2 years in a senior managerial role
- Strong understanding of Canadian employment laws, talent acquisition trends, and best practices in employee onboarding
- Proven ability to develop and execute large-scale recruitment and onboarding strategies in a multi-site environment
- Proven ability to manage, report and leverage data
- Advanced digital platform knowledge and ability
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Experience in seniors housing, healthcare, hospitality, or other high-volume service industries is an asset
- Proficiency in HRIS, ATS, and onboarding software, with a data-driven approach to HR decision-making
