About The Team

Okta’s Auth0 technology, is an easy-to-implement authentication and authorization platform built by developers, for developers. Every day, our platform enables 100+ million secure logins worldwide. About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated engineer to join our Platform Application Services team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-impact tools that enhance developer productivity, automate workflows, and reduce duplication across teams. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs, build scalable solutions, and ensure the reliability of our shared utilities.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain scalable internal tools and services that support product development.
  • Identify and consolidate redundant tools to improve efficiency across teams.
  • Automate repetitive workflows and operational processes to streamline developer productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand their needs and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for development, deployment, and maintenance of internal tools.
  • Drive improvements in the reliability, performance, and security of our platform services.
  • Explore and integrate emerging technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Provide clear documentation and support for teams using our tools and services.
  • Take ownership of platform service lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Mentor and support team members in best practices and technical growth.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as part of ensuring platform reliability.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on building internal tools and automation.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Golang, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, etc).
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, system design, and maintainability best practices.
  • Experience in automation—improving workflows and reducing inefficiencies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and best practices for maintaining high-reliability services.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous learning, and driving platform improvements.

Technical Skills

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Skills)

  • Experience with Golang, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Node.js.
  • Familiarity with gRPC and microservices architectures.

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerization.
  • Experience deploying to AWS and/or Azure.

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:

$118,000—$178,000 CAD
