As part of our journey, we’re building the next gen platform — a modern, human-centered analytics platform. We believe design systems aren’t just about consistency — they’re about scalability, collaboration, and performance.

PDF Solutions is a leader in advanced analytics platforms, transforming complex data into actionable insights for the semiconductor and manufacturing industries. As pioneers in technical innovation, we deliver powerful solutions that help our clients manage and analyze massive datasets on a significant scale.

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer, Analytics & Data Visualization with a strong background in designing analytics platforms focused on large datasets and high scalability. Reporting to the Head of Total Experience, Technical Design, and Implementation, this hands-on role will require you to directly engage in designing user-centered, intuitive experiences for our cutting-edge platforms.

Responsibilities

As a Senior UX Designer at PDF Solutions, you’ll have a primary focus (70%) on UX, complemented by a UI focus (30%), ensuring complex datasets and workflows are transformed into clear, usable interfaces. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the product requirements, collaborating across departments, and delivering design solutions that directly influence user experience. We’re looking for candidates who have designed for data-rich environments similar to major analytics or business intelligence platforms, with a track record in crafting visualizations like scatter plots, complex charts, and advanced data visual interfaces.

  • Lead UX Design for Scalable Platforms: Directly engage in UX design for analytics platforms, focusing on seamless, intuitive experiences that perform efficiently with large data volumes.
  • Product Requirement Collaboration: Partner with product management and technical teams to refine and contribute to product requirements.
  • Design Complex Visualizations: Develop user interfaces for advanced data visualizations (e.g., scatter plots, interactive dashboards) that transform complex data into intuitive visuals.
  • Create Design Artifacts: Deliver wireframes, user journeys, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups with attention to performance, scalability, and usability.
  • Simplify Complex Data Workflows: Transform complex data workflows and processes into user-friendly experiences, ensuring clear, engaging UI elements.
  • User Research & Validation: Conduct user research, usability testing, and design validation to align solutions with business and user needs.
  • Direct Collaboration with Development Teams: Work hands-on with development teams to ensure precise implementation of UX/UI designs.
  • Iterative Improvement: Continuously refine designs based on feedback and evolving product requirements.
  • Write detailed technical requirements that bridge user needs and engineering constraints, ensuring clear communication between design and development teams.
  • Design System Contribution: Maintain and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency across products.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX design and semiconductor engineering.

Qualifications

  • 9+ Years in UX Design for Data-Driven Platforms: Significant experience in UX design for analytics platforms, especially those involving large datasets and high scalability.
  • Product Requirements Expertise: Skilled at shaping and contributing to product requirements within data-intensive applications.
  • Strong Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing experience with complex data visualizations and analytics-focused interfaces, particularly visual elements like scatter plots or multi-dimensional charts.
  • Hands-On UX/UI Balance: A hands-on approach with a 70% focus on UX and 30% on UI, bringing both functionality and aesthetic appeal to your designs.
  • Advanced Data Visualization Skills: Expertise in best practices for data visualization and performance optimization for large datasets.
  • Experience with Design Tools: Proficiency in tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and prototyping platforms like Axure or InVision.
  • Effective Communicator: Ability to present design ideas and explain decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative & Adaptive: Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects effectively.

Bonus Skills

  • Front-End Tech Knowledge: Familiarity with HTML, CSS, or similar technologies to aid collaboration with development teams.
  • Analytics & Visualization Background: Prior experience working on or with large-scale analytics and business intelligence platforms, similar to industry-leading tools for data visualization and complex analytics.

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate has a hands-on approach to UX and UI design, with practical experience in creating interactive data visualizations and optimizing complex datasets into user-friendly interfaces. You should have experience in environments where data visualization is central to the product, with practical examples in your portfolio of transforming detailed data into meaningful visual experiences.
