Role Overview
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our engineering team. As part of the Consumer Antivirus Team, you will build high-quality Windows threat protection software for our flagship McAfee products. Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, this team delivers software that keeps our customers’ machines free from harmful malware and potentially unwanted programs.
This is a remote position based in Canada. We will only consider candidates in Canada and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About The Role
- Develop and execute test plans manually and track the results
- Work closely with developers to develop automated tests and test strategies
- Work closely with other SDETs to make test automation framework changes, perform code reviews, and implement test automation best practices
- Develop and execute test plans manually and track the results
- Use and automate a variety of debugging tools to assist in triage and collecting system information
- Help build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to automate the software development lifecycle
- Use creativity, product, and operating system knowledge to develop and execute a variety of exploratory test scenarios
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve and automate the CI/CD process
- Provide build verification and sign-off
- Drive product quality using industry best practices
About You
- You have 2+ years of manual and automated testing
- You have strong knowledge of python, SQL is a bonus
- You understand and can apply software testing best practices
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of anti-malware applications, network applications
- Knowledge of Windows system internal tools is a bonus
- Experience with performance testing
- You like finding creative solutions to solve hard problems
