We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Software Engineer, Test to join our growing Products & Technology team in Toronto. This team is passionate about delivering high-quality, scalable solutions to serve over 600,000 members. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in building robust automated testing solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of our applications. You will be joining our Products & Technology team and be responsible developing automated test for our internal and external applications.

We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Software Engineer, Test to join our growing Products & Technology team in Toronto. This team is passionate about delivering high-quality, scalable solutions to serve over 600,000 members. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in building robust automated testing solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of our applications. You will be joining our Products & Technology team and be responsible developing automated test for our internal and external applications.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partner with developers, product managers, and designers to influence technical design and ensure testability
- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks across web and data platforms, including the ability to architect solutions from the ground up
- Apply experience in both UI and API automated testing to ensure end-to-end coverage and quality
- Write and execute clear, maintainable tests using JavaScript, Playwright, and SQL
- Support and evolve the overall automation strategy with a focus on value, ROI, and early stage integration
- Reduce reliance on manual testing by identifying and executing automation opportunities
- Provide insights through dashboards and status reporting for team visibility
- Execute and automated testing to support biweekly releases
- Communicate testing progress and issues to team members and stakeholders through clear reporting
- Playwright, JavaScript, TypeScript
- Performance Testing (eg. Artillery, JMeter, locust, LoadRunner)
- SQL Server, OracleDB
- Azure Data Factory, Azure Function Apps, PowerBI
- GitLab CI/CD, Jira
- Minimum 5 years of experience in test automation and QA in Agile environments
- Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end automation solutions
- Strong SQL skills for constructing and validating complex queries (joins, subqueries)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and test strategies
- Experience with Playwright and/or similar technologies
- Experience with defect management tools (e.g., Jira)
- Strong understanding of the test pyramid, test strategy, and how automation fits into modern DevOps pipelines
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and see tasks through to completion
- (Nice to Have) Familiarity with pension/financial services domain
- (Nice to Have) Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, PowerBI, or Function Apps
