Software Engineering Manager

Our client is a fast-growing data analytics and AI startup. This is a hybrid role, and we are looking for someone local or willing to relocate to Burlington, Ontario.

As their Engineering Manager based in Burlington, Ontario, you will manage a team of around 10 Engineers. And while we are looking for someone technical who can perform basic things like Code Reviews, we are equally looking for someone who balances technical prowess with the ability to manage the overall Product / Software Development process.

Responsibilities

• 30% Product Owner shepherding the SDLC and 70% Engineering Manager
• Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of full-stack engineers.
• Setting team goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Conducting performance reviews, providing feedback, and supporting career growth.

They are pretty cutting edge across the board and are aligned with leading data trends in Databricks / Spark, for example, and with a very advanced CI / CD infrastructure via Helm and Karpenter.

• React JS frontend
• Backend in Springboot (Java), Python and Golang.
• Data Tier: Databricks (Spark) and Snowflake (SQL)
• Platform: EKS/AKS on AWS/Azure, respectively, with Helm and Karpenter
