The Role
The Cognizant Consulting team is a high performing organization that is continually expanding our client base and increasingly being recommended by analysts such as Forrester and Gartner. As a Consulting Manager, you play an important role with responsibilities that range from analyzing a client's issues/objectives and interviewing key client stakeholders to developing recommendations and authoring presentations. You will participate and lead teams in strategic advisory projects. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive client projects from conception to implementation while managing stakeholder relationships and guiding other team members. The ideal candidate combines project management excellence with strategic vision and exceptional client communication skills.
We’re looking for Consulting Managers who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Senior Consultant, this means partnering with clients and project stakeholders, and colleagues. Responsibilities
- Based on experience, support or own and manage one or more project workstream(s), including deliverables, while adhering to budget, timelines, and client engagement guidelines;
- Partner with clients and project stakeholders and apply technical and domain expertise to solve core client business challenges or inefficiencies; this may include leading and managing small solutioning teams to accomplish the above
- Lead consulting engagements with end-to-end project management responsibility
- Develop and drive strategic initiatives while managing timeline, resources, and deliverables
- Navigate complex stakeholder environments and lead difficult conversations when necessary
- Create and present high-level, concise client deliverables that effectively communicate key messages
- Develop both immediately actionable recommendations and innovative future state solutions
- Guide and mentor team members
- Translate strategic concepts into practical recommendations
- Build and maintain strong client relationships at multiple organizational levels
- Develop practice capabilities and brand recognition by exercising thought leadership, establishing a consultative presence within Cognizant and the wider consulting community, and participating in professional organizations;
- Completed MBA from top tier Business School
- 5-7 years of experience in a management consulting style role
- Proven track record in project management and client relationship management
- Exceptional strategic thinking capabilities balanced with operational implementation expertise
- Outstanding communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to influence key stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to develop concise, high-impact client deliverables
- Experience leading teams and mentoring colleagues
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights
- Solid Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to toggle seamlessly between strategic thinking and tactical execution
- Skill in challenging clients constructively while maintaining strong relationships
- Exceptional leadership presence in client-facing situations
- Talent for creating practical recommendations that drive immediate value while positioning for future innovation
- Capacity to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
- Adaptability in approach when faced with new challenges or changing requirements
- Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to client service excellence
- A strong interest in technology and digital modernization
- Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
