The Structural Engineer is an integral part of the Engineering team who is responsible for the successful delivery of projects around the world. They play a key role in designing and engineering the next generation of water ride structures, aquatic play structures and all other components and products that make up ProSlide's award winning rides.

Your Challenge
- Under the supervision of a senior engineer, perform structural analysis and design for new and existing structures and foundations including water ride supports, aquatic play structures, architectural theming elements, and start towers to various regional design codes and standards
- Design structures using conventional construction materials like structural steel and reinforced concrete along with unconventional materials like fiberglass
- Document calculations, and technical findings through reports, specifications, and other technical documentation
- Work with engineers-in-training and structural designers to develop and review structural drawings as well as shop drawings
- Develop Design Specifications and Statements of Works (SOW) for 3rd party consultants
- Review of drawings, designs and engineering calculations from 3rd party consultants
- Create analytical models using 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for input to FEA software (ANSYS, Staad.Pro, RFEM)
- Assist in the creation and review of shop drawings, specifications, installation details and work instructions
- Support the approval process for ProSlide products through various international regulatory agencies
- Participate in the development of Engineering tools to improve team efficiency
- On-site inspections and ride verification; international travel required
- Masters’ degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university program
- 5 years of progressive structural engineering experience with emphasis on designing steel structures and concrete foundations to Canadian, US and/or European standards.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in good standing in any Canadian Province. Registration as a Professional Engineering (PE) in any US State is considered an asset.
- Experience using structural analysis and design software (RFEM, Staad.Pro, etc.) to model large scale structures. Industry experience with general purpose finite element software (ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.) is considered an asset.
- Experience designing structures for static, dynamic, and fatigue loading
- Familiarity with using AutoCAD to create construction drawings. Experience with Revit and SolidWorks is considered an asset
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are a requirement.
- Experience taking a project from the conceptual stage all the way through to final construction
- Knowledge and familiarity with construction best practices for documentation and managing submittals
- Strong skills in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Strong technical writing skills are required.
- Experience with 3D modeling of complex shapes and structures is considered an asset
- Previous exposure to the aquatics, entertainment or leisure industries is considered an asset
