6-Month Contract Weekend Supervisor Shift

(Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 8-12 shifts).

Purpose of Role: The Supervisor ensures compliance with all safety, health and environmental (SHE) rules and regulations; executes safety, quality, and production targets using continuous improvement, process management, and to uncover issues and drive improvement throughout manufacturing operations; focused on providing quality to customers. Ensures maintenance teams are following preventative maintenance schedules and effects timely repairs. During weekend operations, manages contractors and any other site personnel.

Key Responsibilities/Competencies:

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Effectively mentor and provide direction to team leaders and team members by building effective teams.
  • Works with manager and team leader(s) to ensure departmental initiatives are properly deployed, implemented and sustained, establishing systematic troubleshooting and diagnosis techniques.
  • Plan and monitor all labor vs. production needs in each department within the manufacturing facility.
  • The role involves working with all the departments to ensure safety, reliability, sustainability, and to maximise uptime. Close collaboration is required between the various teams.

Qualifications - Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience leading a unionized labour force.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/maintenance/trade’s environment would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with EAM and Oracle would be ideal.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
  • The candidate should be comfortable working weekend shifts: Friday through Sunday (8-12 hours shifts).
