Job Description

As a key contributor on the Technical Training team, the Technical Training Specialist will focus on the development of training plans, material and delivering training for the Business system tools on the River Class Destroyer (RCD) Program using the ADDIE methodology. This role works closely with key internal stakeholders, internal IT department, and the Government of Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders through the Systems Development Lifecycle, Functional Testing, Regression, Integration and End-User Acceptance Testing
  • Conduct training needs analysis and provide recommendations on training for system changes and upgrades for RCD project teams, Fleetway and Government of Canada, including determining teaching methods based on technical environments and security constraints
  • Design instructional material such as software simulation and step by step guides with method of delivery considerations.
  • Create and recommend an implementation plan and communicate with business owners
  • Development and peer review of training courses, materials, support materials and/or utilization of vendor training programs to meet ISI's goals and objectives
  • Deliver group and/or individual Training covering technical and operational aspects for the various Business system tools
  • Maintain course information and learner attendance in ISI 's Learning Management System
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training and development programs, using relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Technical Training or Training on large, complex defense or manufacturing projects
  • Degree or other tertiary qualifications in a Business discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certificate in Adult Education considered an asset
  • Change Management/Prosci ADKAR certification considered an asset
