Building Attendant (Golf) Employment Type: Casual Part Time Hours of Work: Up to 24 hours per week Job location: Doon Valley Golf Course Pay: $22.34 To $23.24 Hourly Grade/Band: 3 Job Posting Start Date: 7/2/26 Job Posting End Date: 7/9/26 Job Description: Overview

This position is Temporary Part-Time for approximately 4 months (weather pending).

Maintains the cleanliness of the building and on-course amenities by performing various cleaning duties. Prepares the facility for rental setup, including setting up and taking down tables and chairs, and ensures cleanliness across both indoor and outdoor areas, including on-course facilities.

Responsibilities

Building and Interior Maintenance

• Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, urinals, toilets, walls, showers, and all touch spots.
• Cleans and polishes stainless steel.
• Cleans floors consisting of dry mopping, wet mopping, floor scrubber, vacuuming.
• Dusts furniture, shelves, etc.
• Cleans entrance doors, windows, and glass.
• Cleans and disinfect water fountains.
• Empties garbage, composting, and recycling receptacles.
• Restocks paper towels and toilet dispensers.
• Wipes down lockers.
• Responds to calls for cleanup of spills throughout the day.
• Sweeps and damp mop stairwells.
• Reports damage or vandalism to Supervisor as required.
• Orders supplies and restocks shelves.
• Sets-up and takes-down rentals (tables, chairs, etc.).
• Dries and wet mop floors prior to set-ups.
• Wipes down tables.
• Arranges tables and chairs as requested and return items to storage after use.

Outdoor and Golf Course Amenities Maintenance

• On-course restroom maintenance: Regular cleaning and restocking of on-course restrooms and wash stations to ensure a clean and sanitary environment for golfers.
• Cleaning and organizing outdoor seating areas: Ensures that all seating areas, patios, and furniture are cleaned, maintained, and arranged as needed.
• Water stations: Regularly cleans water stations on the golf course to ensure accessibility for players.
• Removes garbage and recycling from parking lots, cart paths near clubhouse.
• Patio furniture and outdoor decor: Sets up, takes down, and maintains patio furniture, including cleaning and ensuring proper storage of outdoor items such as umbrellas and chairs after use.
• Waters and maintains outdoor planter boxes at entrances to clubhouse to ensure they remain healthy and visually appealing.

Equipment Maintenance

• Operates vacuums, sweepers, floor buffers, and steam cleaners for walls and tiles, and related equipment for both interior and outdoor cleaning.

Additional Duties:

• Performs other related duties as assigned, including assisting with event setups on the golf course or around the clubhouse.

Education

• Minimum equivalent to partial secondary school education

Experience

• Minimum 3 months of related experience, including custodial work.
• Experience with indoor/outdoor or clubhouse maintenance is an asset.

Additional Requirements

• Hours of Work: Able to work various shifts to accommodate work schedules, including weekends, or special projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) for the safe use and clean-up of hazardous materials.
• Knowledge of proper floor care, cleaning techniques, and industry standards.
• Knowledge of the safe and proper use of custodial equipment and related procedures.
• Well-developed customer service skills, especially in outdoor or public-facing roles.
• Ability to handle and work with cleaning equipment, supplies, and materials in various outdoor weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks across indoor and outdoor spaces.
• Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
