The Opportunity: The Child Safety & Family Guidance Supervisor will develop and manage a team of practitioners responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of children and youth through immediate restorative child welfare practices. This includes utilizing applicable provincial standards such as AOPSI, adhering to CFCSA, and the implementation of future state models and standards that may be developed by Carrier Sekani through the jurisdiction process. The Supervisor will work within a team environment with the other child and family services programs.

- Under the CFCSA, receives, assesses and processes information related to support, needs, protection, safety and well-being of children and youth.
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely case documentation in required information management systems.
- Acts as the legal guardian of children in care by assessing the child’s strengths and needs regarding permanency, identity, placement, health, legal, education/social recreational activities and self-care/independence skills.
- Attend seminars and take part in professional development related to your role.
- Ensure department practice aligns with the CSFS policy and practice framework
What You Will Bring To The Role
- Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Art in Child and Youth Care
- M inimum of five years of current experience in child and family services, including child protection
- Supervisory training and experience supervising staff preferred.
- Currently has C6 delegation through MCFD in BC, or has been C6 delegated within the past 3 years.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and child welfare organizations preferred.
- Ability to travel regularly
