Financial Controller

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the finance function and help support the company’s next stage of growth. We’re recruiting a Financial Controller on behalf of our client, a successful and growing hospitality organization with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional experiences. Reporting to the COO, the Controller will lead the day-to-day finance and accounting function, overseeing financial reporting, month-end closing, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting, compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is mature, reliable, and highly accountable, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. They bring a polished and intelligent presence, balanced by an easygoing, personable style and the flexibility to adapt as priorities shift. They are equally comfortable working with the details and stepping back to see the bigger picture. Main responsibilities include:
- Own the full accounting cycle, including month-end closing, reconciliations and the general ledger, delivering accurate financial statements on schedule
- Manage cash flow, AR/AP and working capital, providing visibility into the company’s financial position and needs
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, translating financial results and trends into clear, actionable insights for leadership
- Build and strengthen internal controls, accounting processes and finance systems
- Keep the organization compliance on tax and regulatory filings, liaising with the CRA, external accountants and financial partners as needed
- Grow a high-performing finance team and act as a trusted financial advisor to the COO and operational leaders

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting
- Completed CPA designation or in progress is an asset
- Minimum 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Exceptional communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Experience within the hospitality industry is an asset
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset
How You Will Be Rewarded:
- $100,000 - $120,000 salary range
