Description

The Fire Service Account Manager develops and manages inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) agreements, deficiency repairs, and compliance programs, and carries them through to scheduling, field delivery, and documentation. The role requires a working knowledge of NFPA 25, CAN/ULC-S536, and applicable fire codes so that every program sold is compliant, practical, and can be delivered reliably in the field.

You will work closely with customers, the Scheduling Supervisor, Service Managers, technicians, and operations to make sure what is sold matches what is scheduled, performed, and reported.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

  • Identify and develop ITM opportunities across commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings
  • Build relationships with building owners, property managers, and facility managers
  • Generate leads through industry relationships, site visits, and proactive prospecting
  • Manage the full sales cycle from first contact to signed service agreement
  • Drive renewals and account growth throughout the customer lifecycle
  • Responsible for securing PMA deficiencies with expediency and profitability in mind.

Technical Scoping and Quoting

  • Review site conditions, device counts, and system inventories to scope ITM programs
  • Prepare accurate, competitive quotes for ITM agreements and deficiency repairs
  • Interpret and apply NFPA 25, CAN/ULC-S536, and applicable fire codes
  • Identify deficiencies, repair opportunities, and gaps in existing coverage
  • Quality-check opportunities before service contract and service order creation

Contract Setup and Documentation

  • Establish client accounts and ERP service contracts by client and service order type
  • Build inspection report frameworks and prepare service orders and documentation for field staff in line with the agreed scope
  • Create purchase orders
  • Verify final service orders and inspection reports for accuracy
  • Manage documentation from creation through finalization and records retention

Scheduling and Field Coordination

  • Prepare and maintain schedules for the Fire and Life Safety Inspection team at prescribed intervals to meet scheduling KPIs
  • Schedule field staff at least two weeks in advance, matching scope to technician and fitter skills and preventing scope creep
  • Confirm job readiness and verify appointments with customers before deployment
  • Communicate appointment details with field staff, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Work with the Scheduling Supervisor and Service Managers to allocate appropriate time per job using RTG and job duration standards
  • Aim for on-time, error-free inspections with minimal return visits

Market and Industry Engagement

  • Stay current on code changes, technologies, and industry trends
  • Monitor competitor activity and market conditions
  • Position CFLS as a trusted advisor in fire and life safety compliance

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft office suites, experience in working with different ERP, customer service systems
  • 2-4 years in account management, ideally in fire protection industry
  • Basic invoicing, accounting cycle
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proactively build and sustain long-term client relationship
