Health & Safety Manager

LaSalle (Montreal) | Full-Time | 100% On-Site | Occasional Travel Canada/USA

Strathmore is a Canadian leader in commercial landscaping and snow removal, with more than 60 years of experience. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support our operations across Canada and strengthen our culture of prevention and accountability.

You will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Strathmore’s health and safety programs across our multi-site operations.

This is a hands-on, operational role requiring regular interaction with managers, supervisors and field teams.

Essential requirements:

• Fluently bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken;

• Available to work full-time, 100% on-site at our LaSalle (Montreal) office;

• Available to travel regularly across Canada and occasionally to the United States.

• Develop and maintain company-wide OHS policies, programs and procedures;

• Ensure compliance with CNESST requirements and applicable Canadian OHS legislation;

• Conduct site audits, inspections and risk assessments;

• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses;

• Implement and follow up on corrective and preventive actions;

• Monitor and report on health and safety performance indicators;

• Develop and deliver safety training;

• Coach managers and supervisors on OHS requirements and best practices;

• Promote a proactive culture of prevention, accountability and continuous improvement.

• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Prevention or a related field;

• Minimum 5 years of relevant OHS experience, ideally in construction, field services or multi-site operations;

• Strong knowledge of Quebec OHS legislation (LSST, LATMP), CNESST requirements and the Safety Code for the Construction Industry, as well as Canadian OHS requirements;

• Experience with incident investigations, audits, inspections and risk assessments;

• ASP Construction – Health and Safety on Construction Sites certification, where required for site access;

• CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation or another recognized Canadian OHS designation strongly preferred;

• Fluent French and English, written and spoken.

• Experience managing OHS requirements across multiple Canadian provinces;

• OSHA training or certification;

• NEBOSH certification;

• Knowledge of U.S. health and safety requirements;

• Experience in landscaping, snow removal, construction, fleet or other field-based operations.
