Northland School Division is accepting applications for the Human Resources (HR) Administrative Assistant position. The position is based out of either central office in Peace River, Alberta or Edmonton, Alberta.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all HR-related email correspondence, telephone inquiries, and coordinate communication with external HR service providers.
  • Performs usual office routines and duties and maintains all personnel file records with strict confidentiality, as required by division policy.
  • Drafts letters and prepares routine correspondence, as required.
  • Compiles employment packages for all newly hired staff.
  • Schedule interviews for potential staff as requested.
  • Organize and schedule job interviews, providing a seamless experience for candidates and hiring managers.
  • Verifies employment experience for staff.
  • Play a supporting role in organizing divisional events, including New Principal/Teacher Orientation and Long Service Awards ceremonies.
  • Assist the Payroll Department with various tasks as needed, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Diploma in office or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
  • Strong skills in Google Suite and Microsoft Office, particularly in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards.
  • Understanding of payroll procedures; experience with specific payroll software is an asset.
