Senior/Lead Commercial Electrical Estimator

About The Opportunity

  • We are seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Commercial Electrical Estimator with 10+ years of commercial electrical construction experience and a strong background in commercial tenant improvement (TI) projects.
  • This is an opportunity for an experienced estimator who wants to take ownership of the estimating function-not simply follow an existing process.
  • You will have the opportunity to build and improve estimating workflows, leverage technology and AI, work closely with customers and project teams, and help establish a stronger estimating operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the estimating process for commercial electrical projects.
  • Prepare accurate estimates, bids, and proposals for commercial tenant improvement and landlord improvement projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements.
  • Identify project risks, gaps, and potential cost issues early and communicate them effectively.
  • Work closely with customers, project managers, field teams, and senior leadership.
  • Develop and improve estimating processes, tools, databases, and workflows.
  • Evaluate and implement estimating software, technology, and AI tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Track projects through completion and compare estimated costs against actual project performance.
  • Use historical project data to improve future estimates and project outcomes.
  • Help establish estimating best practices and improve team performance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less-experienced team members.
  • Collaborate closely with project management and field operations to ensure alignment from estimate through completion.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction.
  • Strong experience with commercial tenant improvement projects.
  • Proven experience estimating commercial electrical projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, materials, labor, and project costs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer-facing and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to identify risks and communicate them proactively.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with estimating software and related technology.
  • Interest in using technology, automation, and AI to improve estimating processes.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of processes and outcomes.
  • Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and develop others.
