The Team
The A&M Tax Canada Team offers comprehensive tax advisory services to clients in various sectors and industries. With a deep understanding of the Canadian tax landscape, the team helps clients navigate the complex and evolving tax issues that affect their business transactions, investments, and operations.

The salary range is $125,000 - $175,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.

With a deep understanding of the Canadian tax landscape, the team helps clients navigate the complex and evolving tax issues that affect their business transactions, investments, and operations.
How You Will Contribute
As a Manager within the A&M Core Tax team, you will:
- Conduct tax research and analyze current tax legislation to provide practical guidance to engagement teams and clients on the tax implications of business activities, transactions, and organizational changes.
- Prepare and review tax compliance and consulting deliverables while ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to applicable tax laws and firm standards.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing income tax provisions, including current and deferred tax calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Support clients through tax audits and regulatory inquiries by preparing documentation, coordinating responses, and working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and assist clients in managing tax risk while supporting compliance with evolving legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously by coordinating project plans, monitoring timelines and budgets, and maintaining proactive communication with clients and engagement teams.
- Review the work of junior team members, providing timely coaching, constructive feedback, and technical guidance to support their professional development.
- Assist in improving tax compliance and engagement processes by identifying efficiencies, implementing best practices, and promoting consistent, high-quality deliverables.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding client objectives, delivering responsive service, and serving as a trusted day-to-day advisor.
- Support engagement economics by monitoring budgets, tracking project progress, identifying potential scope changes, and escalating issues when appropriate.
- Stay current on tax legislation and emerging industry developments and share relevant knowledge with colleagues and clients.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Tax practice and other A&M service lines to deliver integrated solutions and identify opportunities to provide additional value to clients.
- Contribute to business development efforts by assisting with proposals, participating in client meetings, and supporting the expansion of existing client relationships.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment that encourages knowledge sharing, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Undergraduate degree required or Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting, CPA designation required, enrollment in or completion of CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Program preferred.
- 4+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably within a public accounting firm, professional services environment, or a large corporate tax function.
- Demonstrated experience managing client engagements and leading teams of tax professionals.
- Strong technical tax research and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax matters to diverse audiences.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience managing engagement economics, including budgeting, staffing, and client billing.
- Demonstrated business development and relationship management capabilities.
- Advanced Excel and tax technology proficiency preferred.
- Self-motivated professional with strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, client-service-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.
