What you'll do

In a context of sustained growth and in order to strengthen the leadership of the payroll team, you will play a key role as Payroll Director. The evolution of this position aims to ensure stronger governance, a well‑defined strategic vision, and optimal management of payroll activities across the organization. You will lead and support a committed, collaborative team recognized for its strong team spirit. Building on this solid foundation, you will help structure processes, optimize tools, and support the company in its growth. As a strategic leader, you will ensure excellence in payroll operations, compliance with legal requirements, consistency in practices, and continuous improvement of processes, while fostering a motivating, high‑performing, and collaborative work environment.

How will you create impact?

You contribute to achieving the company’s objectives through the following actions:

  • Lead, mentor, engage, and develop a team of payroll professionals (approximately 5 people)
  • Define the strategic direction of the payroll team in alignment with corporate objectives
  • Collaborate closely with HR to ensure alignment of compensation policies and onboarding processes
  • Oversee and participate in the full bi-weekly payroll cycle for Canadian, U.S., and U.K. entities, including expense account management
  • Support the team in resolving anomalies or complex payroll cases
  • Ensure legal and tax compliance of payroll processes, including remittances, T4, R1, W-2 forms, and other annual filings
  • Implement robust internal controls and performance indicators to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with HR in developing social programs and payroll-related policies
  • Advise managers and internal partners on complex payroll and benefits issues
  • Contribute to the optimization of payroll-related systems
  • Actively participate in internal and external audits
  • Take on any other responsibilities related to payroll and compensation (special projects, training, etc.)

Who are we looking for?

We Are Looking For Someone Who Can

  • Hold a degree in Administration, Accounting, or a related field (recognized DEC or Bachelor’s)
  • Possess a payroll certification such as Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM), considered a strong asset
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll management role, including team supervision
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of payroll‑related tax regulations (e.g., taxable benefits) and general labor standards
  • Show a good understanding of payroll‑related accounting (journal entries, account reconciliation), considered an asset
  • Be proficient with payroll systems and specialized software (knowledge of SAP and Dayforce is a strong asset), and highly skilled in Excel
  • Be familiar with Kronos for time management (an asset)
  • Demonstrate excellent ability to manage stress, priorities, and tight deadlines
  • Be bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
  • Show inspiring leadership, strong ethics, discretion, autonomy, and a strong sense of teamwork
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to solve complex problems
  • Have experience working in a high‑volume, international environment
