The Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance, readiness, and operational control of six production lines. This role ensures that production areas are organized, efficient, safe, and compliant with company standards for quality, accuracy, and throughput. The Supervisor provides strong leadership, maintains accountability across all teams, and ensures proactive planning to meet production demands.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance, readiness, and operational control of six production lines. This role ensures that production areas are organized, efficient, safe, and compliant with company standards for quality, accuracy, and throughput. The Supervisor provides strong leadership, maintains accountability across all teams, and ensures proactive planning to meet production demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Oversight, Readiness & Planning
- Oversee daily operations across six production lines to ensure consistent workflow and productivity.
- Ensure all carts are prepared and ready for new material.
- Verify all materials are properly labeled, organized, counted, and returned to stock when required.
- Stage sufficient material to support the full production day and the following shift.
- Ensure the evening shift begins with all materials, carts, and foil ready.
- Maintain organization and control of the RMA cart.
- Manage the marketing cart for sample requests, ensuring cleanliness and proper material handling.
- Ensure marketing samples are produced using cutoff carts only.
- Ensure all teams have necessary supplies, including small consumables.
- Ensure foil is staged and ready for three shifts.
- Plan production proactively to stay ahead of demand.
- Supervision, Leadership Presence & Accountability
- Maintain active oversight of all six production lines throughout the shift.
- Ensure employees remain productive and reassign labor as needed when lines slow or stop.
- Track daily production rates and understand expected output targets.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Ensure material coming off the line is properly condensed and stored.
- Communicate production priorities clearly, including upcoming tasks and workload expectations.
- Provide consistent follow-up to ensure responsibilities are completed.
- Line Lead Oversight
- Direct and support Line Lead assigned to two production lines each.
- Ensure Line Leads maintain:
- Material readiness, staging, and organization
- Accurate labeling and supply availability
- Support for setups and monitoring of line performance
- Scrap rate checks and reporting
- Clean and organized back-of-line areas with up-to-date paperwork
- Compliance with all safety procedures
- Daily equipment cleanliness and maintenance on their assigned lines
- Proper upkeep of toolboxes, manuals, and machine components
- Safe and functional equipment, including primer hoses, heaters, wheels, and all operational parts
- Ensure Lead Hands support overall production flow across all areas.
- Quality, Accuracy & Process Control
- Ensure all production areas remain clean and organized.
- Verify finished product is properly put away and accurately counted.
- Ensure labels on rolls are accurate and verified.
- Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and honestly.
- Prevent production from running material with known quality issues, including PVC defects.
- Maintain strong process control to prevent quality failures.
- Equipment & Efficiency
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and workflow.
- Ensure equipment is set up to support consistent, efficient operation.
- Prevent slowdowns caused by poor setup or lack of readiness.
- Ensure all equipment across all six lines is cleaned and maintained daily.
- Hold Lead Hands accountable for equipment condition, cleanliness, and maintenance on their assigned lines.
- Verify that all machine components—including primer hoses, heaters, wheels, and related parts—are properly maintained and safe to operate.
- Leadership Standards & Fairness
- Provide consistent leadership across all production lines and personnel.
- Hold all employees to the same standards without favoritism.
- Ensure advancement opportunities are based on performance, capability, and leadership.
- Demonstrate fairness, consistency, and accountability in all supervisory actions.
- Safety Leadership & Enforcement
- Enforce all safety rules and procedures consistently.
- Correct unsafe behavior immediately.
- Ensure employees follow safety requirements at all times.
- Document and escalate repeated safety violations.
- Maintain a leadership presence that reinforces safety as a core operational priority.
- Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of production processes, equipment operation, and safety standards.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and hold teams accountable.
- Ability to stand, walk, and oversee production areas for extended periods.
- Ability to lift materials as required by production operations.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and moving equipment.
- Fast-paced production environment.
- Requires regular interaction with production staff, Lead Hands, and management.
- May require occasional overtime based on production needs.
