Summary
The Swing Class 3 Driver is responsible for safely operating various waste collection vehicles, servicing commercial and industrial customers while ensuring timely pick-up and delivery of containers. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, maintain safety standards, and ensure routes are completed efficiently in accordance with Miller Waste Systems protocols.

Responsibilities
In the position of Swing Class 3 Driver, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and must be familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • The safe and efficient operation of the Roll-Off, and Commercial and Residential Rear Load trucks.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of and be familiar with Saint John roads and area.
  • Ensure customers are serviced as per their contractual requirements and schedules.
  • Physical ability to safely push and pull various sizes and weights of containers in and out of enclosures and rooms.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Meet and/or exceed performance and productivity expectations through proven results.
  • Comply with all Miller Waste System and Provincial Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • During some periods you will be required to assist with driving for residential collections.
  • The Swing Driver will be utilized to cover vacations, absences, and extra help with existing routes so start and end time are subject to change.

Competencies & Qualifications
  • Valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence required.
  • Must have a clean driver’s abstract and no preventable accidents in the past year.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility with your work schedule is necessary as start and end times may vary. Statutory Holidays and/or weekends will be required at times.
  • Effective written and verbal communication is mandatory.
  • Excellent attendance and performance record.
  • Exceptional reputation for working well alongside colleagues and management.
