As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join our Mechanical Team and contribute to the successful delivery of building engineering projects across Atlantic Canada. You will provide technical leadership, support business development activities, mentor junior staff, and work closely with clients, project teams, and other disciplines to deliver innovative and high-quality solutions.

Your Main Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join our Mechanical Team and contribute to the successful delivery of building engineering projects across Atlantic Canada. You will provide technical leadership, support business development activities, mentor junior staff, and work closely with clients, project teams, and other disciplines to deliver innovative and high-quality solutions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety leadership by promoting Englobe's Health and Safety culture and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements;
- Lead the mechanical design of commercial, institutional, multi-unit residential, and light industrial building projects, with a strong focus on HVAC systems;
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, technologists, and project teams throughout all phases of project delivery;
- Develop mechanical design concepts, calculations, specifications, drawings, reports, and contract documents;
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful delivery of projects on schedule, within budget, and to quality expectations;
- Foster and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, technical consultation, and project support;
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation, client engagement, networking, and identifying new opportunities;
- Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and project execution activities;
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and successful project outcomes;
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives, industry best practices, and innovative design approaches within the mechanical engineering practice.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with the applicable provincial engineering association;
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical building systems design with a focus on HVAC systems;
- Proven experience delivering commercial, institutional, multi-unit residential, and light industrial projects;
- Strong knowledge of mechanical building systems, energy-efficient design practices, applicable codes, standards, and industry regulations;
- Experience managing projects, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and client communications;
- Proficiency with industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and HVAC design tools; experience with Revit is considered an asset;
- Strong report writing, technical documentation, and proposal development skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities;
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously;
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff;
- Experience supporting business development and client growth initiatives is considered a strong asset;
- Bilingualism (English and French) would be considered an asset.
