On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a SimCorp Dimensions Derivatives SME to serve as the subject matter expert for derivative products and associated processing within SimCorp Dimensions, supporting implementation, configuration, optimization, testing, and ongoing enhancement activities. They will provide expert guidance across the derivatives lifecycle in support of investment operations and technology objectives. They will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, project resources, front office, middle office, operations, risk, accounting, and technology teams to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into SimCorp Dimensions solutions.

They will provide expert guidance across the derivatives lifecycle in support of investment operations and technology objectives. They will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, project resources, front office, middle office, operations, risk, accounting, and technology teams to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into SimCorp Dimensions solutions.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert for derivatives processing and functionality within SimCorp Dimensions.
- Partner with business, operations, technology, and vendor teams to design and implement efficient derivatives workflows within SCD.
- Configure, validate, and optimize SimCorp Dimensions derivative modules and related workflows.
- Support business requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and production implementation activities.
- Provide expertise across the full derivatives lifecycle, including trade capture, confirmation, valuation, collateral management, settlements, reconciliations, corporate actions, and lifecycle event processing.
- Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and operational efficiencies within SCD.
- Troubleshoot and resolve derivatives-related data, processing, valuation, and integration issues.
- Support data mapping, instrument setup, security master maintenance, and interface validation activities.
- Develop and execute test strategies, test cases, and user acceptance testing scenarios related to derivative products and workflows.
- Provide recommendations regarding system controls, data quality, exception management, and operational risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with project teams during system enhancements, upgrades, migrations, and release activities.
- Work with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and support development of operational and management reporting.
- Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to business and technical teams on SimCorp Dimensions derivatives capabilities and best practices.
- Support documentation of business processes, operating procedures, configuration decisions, and training materials.
- Liaise with front office, middle office, operations, risk, accounting, and technology teams to ensure business requirements are accurately represented within SCD.
- Apply strong knowledge of OTC and exchange-traded derivatives, including interest rate, equity, credit, FX, and commodity derivative products.
- Experience working with derivatives products and associated operational workflows.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing, supporting, configuring, or enhancing SimCorp Dimensions (SCD).
- Strong knowledge of SimCorp Dimensions derivatives functionality, including trade lifecycle processing, valuation, settlements, reconciliations, and cashflow management.
- Advanced understanding of OTC and exchange-traded derivatives, including lifecycle events, valuations, collateral processes, and operational controls.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into system and process solutions within SimCorp Dimensions.
- Experience supporting system implementation, migration, upgrade, testing, or transformation initiatives involving derivatives processing.
- Strong understanding of derivative trade economics, instrument structures, and associated operational processes.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex derivatives processing and data issues.
- Experience developing and executing UAT, system testing, reconciliation, and validation activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills in complex investment management environments.
- Experience working with front office, middle office, operations, accounting, risk, and technology teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business audiences
