TECHNICAL SPECIALIST, FIELD QUALITY CONTROL – GRANDE PRAIRIE (GPC)
The Technical Specialist, Field Quality Control will support Trican’s Fracturing Service Line by conducting field and laboratory quality control tests.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Trican's core value, "Safe equipment and operations" is the priority in all activities
- Represent Trican on location, conducting field quality control to promote and implement optimized and effective stimulation designs and systems
- Adjust blends or additives on location to ensure field properties are consistent with program objectives
- Communicate and report on field problems or discrepancies between anticipated fluid properties and those encountered on location
- Recommend changes to procedures and systems as required and as follow up to field programs
- Ensure product quality by conducting industry specific proppant evaluations on location
- Perform basic laboratory testing without supervision
- Prepare Quality Control Data Report for stimulation treatment documenting results of various field based laboratory tests
- Operate and maintain basic laboratory testing equipment as directed
- Calibrate equipment prior to usage
- Comply with all standard laboratory practices and procedures while performing functions within the operational environment
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses as required to support field and/or R&D Center functions
- Stay current with all industry specifications and guidelines
- General ad hoc laboratory duties such as cleanup, maintenance and calibration
- Handle sensitive or difficult issues with grace and confidentiality
Experience & Skills:
- Willing to train the right candidate in order to supplement both formal education and lab experience
- Post-secondary education related to the Petroleum Industry is an asset
- Laboratory experience is an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is required
- Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract will be requested
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Working Conditions:
- 15 days on/6 days off
- Must live near base of employment
- Pre-employment medical testing required
- Working in all weather conditions
- Travel to Base and Field locations will be required, in order to assist field operations personnel identify, troubleshoot and correct any fluid or chemical performance related issues
