Job Type Full Time, Seasonal

Schedule 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Requirements

  • Personal Reliable Vehicle
  • CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract, Valid Driver’s License


Pre-employment

  • Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
  • Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation


Superintendent Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate construction operations with the ability to utilize available equipment while maintaining a schedule and completing critical tasks.
  • Supervise the foreman’s daily activities; ensuring their crews tasks are performed efficiently.
  • Ensuring all safety practice and procedures are followed by generating site-specific safety protocols.
  • Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Coordinating and managing scheduling conflicts between sub-contractors.
  • Maintaining records of daily construction activities, including worker timesheets, daily progress reports and safety documentation.
  • Maintaining positive and professional relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Superintendent Qualifications

  • 10 or more year’s combined field experience in Civil Construction (earthworks and/or underground utilities) with a minimum of 5 years as a superintendent in heavy civil construction.
  • Effective leadership skills with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
  • Ability to anticipate stakeholder needs, investigate the underlying causes and identify short/long term solutions.
