Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).

If you’re looking for a role where you can lead the development and maintenance of the Fort Hills Emergency Management Program and support the Response Management Team (RMT) then you’ve found the perfect opportunity! You will also be responsible for ensuring that an effective and efficient emergency support structure is in place.
Responsibilities:
- Act as an Incident Command System (ICS) Process Lead during activations of the Response Management Team (RMT)
- Manage the development and oversee maintenance of the Site Emergency Management Plan, Business Continuity Plan and hazard specific Emergency Response Plans
- Ensure the Fort Hills Emergency Operations Centre is at a constant state of readiness
- Facilitate ICS training and coaching for RMT members
- Facilitate and lead emergency exercises
- Prepare documentation and steward the corrective actions identified during drills, exercises and activations to improve emergency management processes
- Manage the Fort Hills Emergency Signage Program
- Act as the Site Process Lead (SPL) for the OEMS Manage Emergencies and Business Continuity Process
- Support the Emergency Services Department (ESD) by acting as a liaison between ESD and Fort Hills personnel and strengthening the integration and relationships with other production units
- Assist in the development and maintenance of ESD procedures and processes
- 5 to 7 years of related knowledge and experience working in emergency management roles with a strong understanding of emergency planning and response concepts
- Experience in project planning, resourcing and strategic organizational development
- Completion of ICS 100, 200, 300 level training. ICS 400 will be considered an asset
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products specifically Word and Excel
- Working knowledge and familiarity of relevant standards and codes such as Canadian Standards Association, Occupational Health and Safety and Alberta Energy Regulator, Directive 71
- Demonstrated strong professional judgement in planning and performing assignments
- Experience presenting and facilitating meetings
- Emergency response experience will be considered an asset
- This is a fly in/fly out position, based out of Suncor’s Fort Hills Location 90kms North of Fort McMurray
- The shift schedule is 4 days on, 3 days off (Monday to Thursday) working 12-hour shifts (0600hrs-1800hrs)
